Now Playing Tracks

Day 5 of Euro 2012:

-Greece has got to get off to better starts. Red card and a goal in the first half of their first match. Now two goals inside of ten minutes. Buried themselves right from the whistle. Russia has started every match well. Not looking good for the Greeks.

-I wrote the Czechs off after their dismal opening match… And I still am. All they need is a draw and they are in the knockout stage. Oh yeah, they’re playing the host nation. Don’t like their chances. Also, Rosicky picked up an injury and is doubtful. Huge loss.

-Poland are way too predictable at times. It’s give it to Lewandowski, now make something happen. He ends up receiving the ball in bad positions and has to play the role of playmaker. His teammate Kuba Blaszyzckowski took some pressure off of the no. 9 with the goal of the tournament. Someone else has to step up for Poland besides the two Dortmund men.

-Kerzhakov has to start taking these chances for Russia. He applies so much pressure to a defense, but he can’t find the back of the net. And Arshavin is ABSOLUTE SHIT on the left wing. Dzagoev needs some help out there.

-I’ll stick with my pre-tourney predictions. Russia will get a result against Greece to top the group. Poland will find a way to beat Czech Republic and finish second. I’ll be watching the latter—definitely a more balanced match with higher stakes.
